Wedding invitations set the tone for a wedding.  They are the first impression for your guests and Sam and I really wanted that impression to be welcoming, personal, and special.  For us, family was an especially important part of our wedding.  Our families were hosting the event together, and we saw the wedding as not only our day, but also a day to bring together of two wonderful families.

To express this feeling in our invitation, we drew upon our Chinese backgrounds and took advantage of the artistic talents on both sides of the family.  My grandfather's specialty is Chinese painting of plum blossoms and he was excited and honored to do the cover piece for our invitation.  Sam's Dad does beautiful Chinese calligraphy and he was equally thrilled to create the invitation text and to paint the Chinese character "shuangxi" which is a traditional Chinese wedding symbol for "double happiness."

With Diana's help, it came together beautifully.  She used her expertise to help us create an elegant design and layout.  She was also amazing to work with: on top of things, easy to get a hold of, detail-oriented, respectful of our budget, accommodating when we made a last minute change, and most importantly, she really cared about the project.  We were extremely pleased with the result and our guests were too!  We highly recommend Emily Rose Papers!
